The Site opportunity

Smart Urban Living’s proposals for the site represent a unique opportunity to retain the building in pub use and preserve and enhance this locally-listed asset.

The use of the site, which totals 1,780 sqm (0.18Ha) could be optimised to provide a substantial amount of much-needed and in-demand residential accommodation that will fit in with the local context.

The pub at 2A Streatham Hill has struggled to be financially viable for a number of years. The hospitality industry has been subject to devastating impacts including lockdowns during Covid and rising costs of operation.

The pub was closed between May 2020 and April 2021, and between May and November 2022 as a result of the management company going into administration, hampered by rising energy costs.

1A Streatham Place has been used as a motor mechanics workshop with some office space on the first floor. Our proposals would replace this with a high-quality brick-based design providing an increase in commercial space and four storeys of co-living units fronting Streatham Place.
